Pristina afer and Pristina today
Pristina is located east of the center of the historic landscape in Kosovo Kosovo Field (Serbian Kosovo Polje, alb. Fushë Kosova). The town is surrounded by the fertile plains of the region, just to the east lie the hills of Žegovac (Alb. Zhegovc). In the city there are no more rivers. Preserved to the 1950s rivers Pristina (Prishtina) and Veluša (Vellusha) were largely covered by garbage and earth and disappeared from the cityscape. The two led once in the Sitnica which flows west of the urban area to the northwest. Southeast of Pristina in the mountains of Žegovac (Zhegovc) the Gracanica-lake (Alb. Badovcit Liqeni i) a reservoir with approximately 5.5 kilometers in length.
